We had to choose a cartoon clip of Tom and Jerry,
for this project we have to take out the original sound and replace it with
sound effects of our own from the Internet or record them ourselves. I started
by looking at the clip I wanted and thinking about what sounds I wanted to
record and then ones to find on the Internet. I recorded a few sounds myself,
such as kisses and sniffing noises. And the rest I found on sound effects
websites.
I found that looking for the right sounds on the Internet quite
difficult, I couldn't find the sounds I wanted. But I did get a few which went
with the images well. I think that the sounds fit to the action pretty
well and then I added the Tom and Jerry theme tune underneath and let play the
whole way through.
I got the running, screaming, wooping, popping noises all from the Internet. I got them from the Internet because it was easier and they had the right sound I was looking for.
I am happy with the overall result but I am annoyed that I couldn’t find more sounds. If I had to do it again I would record more of the sounds myself then spending ages looking for ones on the Internet.
